Knitting the Mystery Shawl -- getting out of the hole.....

I knit 18 more rows last night. I've only got 10 more rows to go to get back to where I was on Sunday. So, with any luck, I'll get those 10 rows done tonight, and move close to finishing the first iteration of Clue 3.

I'd really like to start Clue 4 tomorrow, before Clue 5 comes out on Friday morning....

Nites, I think all that knitting (or re-knitting) has you confused. Tomorrow IS Friday. I hope you get done all of clue 3 tonight.

Oh, you're right!

Oh, well. Clue 5 is out today -- and I'm still on Clue 3. I had errands to run last night, and I ended up staying up late just to catch up. I ended up knitting 11 rows, meaning I am now back in the "black", 1 rows ahead of where I was when I discovered the blunder on Sunday.

It's funny -- Cat had said something about the weavers of Persian rugs putting in one mistake in the middle, because only Allah is infallible.

I don't have to worry about that! I always have plenty of little errors that I hope don't show up too badly. But this was a glaring error. It definately marred the finished product.

So -- maybe I'll finish Clue 3 tonight, maybe I won't. At any rate, if I do -- I'll be in about the same position I was in when I started -- just over a week behind everybody else. And -- since some folks are working the clues in both directions, I'll be an additional 6 weeks behind those folks.

But as Cat had said, this is lace, not a race.

I just had to race a little this week. I couldn't bear being in the hole/red!

I figure you are busy knitting away on your stole. I hope you are making good progress. I look forward to seeing a picture of your efforts. In an email to you I suggested that you photograph the pink stole against a dark background to emphasize its lacyness.
